Recently Democratic Rep Carolyn McCarthy was diagnosed with lung cancer. The firm of Weitz & Luxenberg filed a class action suit on behalf of McCarthy accusing more than 70 different companies of potentially contaminating the congresswoman. There are a few things that the suit fails to mention though, McCarthy smoked heavily for 40 years – and she never worked with the cancer linked fibre.The suit claims she cam into contact with asbestos when she was a youth and her father and brother worked as boiler makers.
